Fighting game players are tinkerers by nature. Your controller is an extension of your hands, and as your playstyle evolves, your hardware needs might evolve, too. We don't just build our hardwood enclosures to look beautiful; we engineer them to be fully accessible, future-proof, and incredibly easy to maintain for years of tournament play.
Here is what you can expect when you live with a stct8r.
Toolless Entry: Neodymium Magnetic Panels
If you ever decide to swap in heavier joystick springs, octagonal gates, or silent mechanical switches, getting inside your controller shouldn't require a screwdriver and a prayer.
That is why both the bottom cover and the LCD bezel of the stct8r are secured with hidden, high-strength neodymium magnets. There are no cheap screws to strip out over time and no fragile plastic clips to snap. When you need to access the internals or tweak your OLED display, the panels pull away with a firm, satisfying resistance. When you are finished working, they snap perfectly and securely back into place.
The Right to Repair and Modify
Because you can pop the hood in seconds, modifying your stct8r is effortless. We use standard 30mm action button holes meaning your chassis is universally compatible with almost every major arcade part on the market. Want to swap out your genuine Sanwa parts for Seimitsu, Crown, or Qanba Gravity down the line? The enclosure is ready for it. Combined with our quick-disconnect wiring, swapping buttons is a true five-minute job—even sitting in the venue between tournament brackets. No soldering required.
Caring for the Hardwood (The Clean Armor Advantage)
Wood is a living material, but you shouldn't have to treat your arcade stick like fragile antique furniture.
Because every stct8r is sealed with a state-of-the-art Clean Armor finish, maintenance is virtually zero. Unlike bare wood that absorbs sweat or cheap acrylic that smudges and cracks, our UV-cured finish creates a rock-hard, protective barrier. If your stick gets grimy after a long weekend of matches, just wipe it down with a slightly damp microfiber cloth, and it will return to its original, glass-like showroom gloss.
Clean Wiring, Zero Clutter
Opening up a premium custom stick shouldn't look like a rat's nest of electrical tape and loose wires. We take immense pride in our internal cable management. Every stct8r features clean, meticulously routed wire harnessing connecting the RP2040 board to your inputs. It looks professional, it prevents accidental disconnects during travel, and it makes it incredibly easy to see exactly what you are doing when you open that magnetic bottom panel.
The stct8r Guarantee
We hand-build these controllers in Rochester, New York because we care about the FGC, and we stand behind our craftsmanship. Every unit is rigorously tested on PC and console before it ever goes into a shipping box.
When you invest in a stct8r, you aren't just buying a controller for the past and current generation of fighting games. You are buying a premium, future-proof chassis that will carry you through this generation and the next.
